Innovation Summer Camp is Northwest Neighbor's annual Elementary Program held in July, in partnership with Lake Ave Community Foundation.
This year, summer camp will be held Mon-Fri from July 3-28, 2016 from 9AM-3PM. Students from Northwest Pasadena will enjoy diverse curriculum during this month-long camp and gain valuable experience and skills along the way.
This year's program is placing special emphasis on world and community engagement. As many state and federal regulations threaten our community's way of life, it is becoming more critical that our students learn to actively educate themselves and learn how even as young people, they can significant impact on their community. We are excited to partner with other organizations in exposing our students to a wide variety of people and organizations that are working to make Pasadena a safe and thriving city.
There are two exciting volunteer opportunities this summer:
1) We are seeking reading volunteers to assist with small group reading tutoring (between 9:15-10:15am daily). You can volunteer for as few or as many days in the week as you'd like. Training will be held at 9:00am on Friday, June 30th.
2) If you work with an organization or company that is doing work to enhance life in Pasadena, and you would like to either speak to students or host our students on site, please reach out to us! Anything from civic engagement to healthcare to education to therapy...if you're not sure if your line of work is applicable, send us an email and we can discuss!
